Company History

Y. K. Almoayyed & Sons is the result of one man’s vision to create one of the most successful and dynamic business conglomerates in Bahrain. In 1940, at the start of World War II, Yousuf Khalil Almoayyed established a small trading enterprise in Bab Al Bahrain and with wisdom and foresight he ventured into trading towards tomorrow’s world.

He understood the need to offer a level of service and skills that, at the time, was unknown in this remote island nation of Bahrain.

Throughout the years, Yousuf increased and developed his empire to include automobiles, heavy equipment, electronics, property, retail and much more.

Following the inspirational guidance forged by the late founder’s strong operational skills and professional ethics, the next two generations of the Almoayyed family continued to expand and diversify the conglomerate.

ACG was established in 1982 as a separate entity of the parent company in accordance with the Almoayyed policy of intelligent expansion and a vision of creating a full-service enterprise where the full spectrum of a client’s construction and industrial needs could be seamlessly serviced.

ACG has expanded and diversified to incorporate 27 divisions, employing in excess of 6500 multinational staff of highly trained and experienced management, engineering and technical professionals known for their innovative problem-solving, in-depth expertise and solid customer focus. As the company continues to evolve and grow, we remain faithful to the founding principles of rendering a distinctive service to clients and providing for the welfare of employees.

ACG’s close ties with the parent company underline the group’s full-solution capabilities. Today, Y. K. Almoayyed & Sons include automobiles, electronics & home appliances, heavy equipment, interiors, building materials, industrial & building systems, and properties as well as ACG’s sister companies: The National Concrete Company and Ashrafs, which in its several retail outlets represents world-renowned brands.

The Almoayyed Contracting Group is a legacy of simple beginnings, hard work, family values, and perseverance. Through constructional and industrial milestones, ACG is closely tied to the history of progress in the Kingdom of Bahrain, where the group continues to play an integral role in the region’s development by building and supporting infrastructures that cement the region’s progress.
